When will the Crossroads Casino go to a vote in the town of Milford?
Crossroads casino must be approved through a Phase 1 review from the Massachusetts Gaming Commission. Expected completion of Phase 1 is estimated for June/July 2013.
Phase 2 is mitigation negotiation between the host town and Crossroads. Mitigation negotiation also takes place with towns surrounding Milford. Those negotiations are between the surrounding community and Crossroads.
Next, the town of Milford votes on the casino and resulting agreement between Crossroads and Milford.
Next, if the town approves, the town must vote by a 2/3 majority to re-zone the property.
Next, the Massachusetts gaming commission must approve the Crossroads casino over other competitors in the region.
The Massachusetts Gaming Commission hopes to award a license in early 2014.
